1. 1517 - Martin Luther thrown out from the Roman Catholic Church for two reasons:
1.a) He did not accept that the Pope cannot make mistakes
1.b) He objected "indulgences"
2. Crossroads: 20 years later - the year is 1536, William Tyndale is executed for translating the bible into English.
3. 100 years forward: 1642 - Galileo: Dies under house arrest after saying the sun is the center of universe. (The church said the earth is the center). Thus this is the beginning of the Enlightenment.
4. Another 100 years forward: Denise Diderot - French Philosopher. "Man will never be free until the last king is strangled by the entrails of the last priest"
5. Another 100 years: Karl Marx: 1848 - "Religion is the 'Sigh' of the suffering, and it is the opium of the people" (Religion is "Nonsense" - thus the Rise of Atheism).
6. Emotional Reaction: Throw OUT Religion. Human beings becomes no more than just an intelligent animal.
7. What does it have to do with Islam? - NOTHING AT ALL
8. Why?
8.a Islam promotes Knowledge
8.b Islam promotes Research
8.c Islam promotes intellectuality
8.d Islam promotes critical thinking
8.e Islam promotes the sciences
9. Islam starts with "iqra'" (the first revealed word, meaning: READ)
