Adab

Topic: Adab
Disclaimer: Ofcourse I am not the best example of adab, (Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasalam is).
I've lost my cool on social media many times. Yes, hence I deleted my old profile to do justice to those I might have "slandered" on social media in the past, though, unbeknownst to me, I was and continue to be, slandered off-line.
And.
And I choose to be "friends somewhat" to "both sides".
Both sides: The medical profession and the Childbirth Educators.
Note: Yes, please share this post.
In around 2014 before I went on my musafir trip, I sat with several friends who were from the medical line as well as those who were childbirth educators, to discuss the media slander as well as other attacks on Amani Birth.
My concise conclusion:
There is an enormous loss of adab and patience.
I was sent screen shots / print-screens of what was being said about the Amani Birth Book, by those, in real life whom I would look up to and respect as medical professionals.
Yes, as someone who has been with local advocates for gentle birthing, I still respect, and subscribe to allopathy as and when it is necessary.
But to read both sides slandering each other with words such as "doula douli cikebum", "sheeple" and all kinds of 'sufla' words meant to belittle people:
States only one statement to me the human being:
We are human, we need to make istighfar and increase our adab and sabr.
The end.
From your sister, friend, and Amani Birth Trainee and Advocate,
Amirah Mokhtar.
